PARENTS - here are some prompts for your feedback:
- what did you like that your child experienced in school?
- what was a bad experience that your child experienced in school?
- what would you like to see included in public education that was not available for your child?
THANKS for your thoughts!

I wish we did not have so many tests! Where did all the projects and activities go to during the school day?
ReplyDeleteI am a big time blogger. I have four blogs that I currently use. One blog is for my class here at school. It displays homework and summaries of our day. Check out my blog at http://watsonsfifthgraders.blogspot.com/ The kids sometimes write the summary. I also love to post pictures of what we're doing.
ReplyDeleteI was a hyper-active student and ended up having to attend catholic school. Although not lacking intelligence, the hyperactivity contributed to problems and my public school teachers did not understand the symptoms and teaching techniques to use for the ADHD. Naturally, corporal punishment was used alot then. The sisters were firm, yet kind and asked for more, raising the level of success with languages at elementary grades, such as French and Latin.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see languages offered as part of the curriculum in elementary schools.
Also, I would like to see musical instruments taught at the elementary level, and not wait until middle school.
What I liked best about school is all the great teachers I have had. They make learning fun and I know they want me to be succesful in my life. I still think about them.
